As this web site is devoted to people who have - or are
about to stop consuming Doctor prescribed anti cholesterol medications (STATINS)
I am endeavouring to only list here articles relating to why this is a good idea
- however from time to time I will also post other articles about cholesterol
medications (of the lowering variety) from the 'natural' or alternative
perspective. I know there are many folks who still feel it is necessary to lower
cholesterol without the UGLY and CRUEL side effects of Dr Prescribed stuff. I
personally do not believe there is a need to lower cholesterol (per se), but
there are many interesting alternatives 'out there' worth reading
about.
You Must Unlearn What You
Have Learned
Linus Pauling on Heart Disease
Atherosclerotic plaques deposit in
response to injury. This major finding led to the 1985 Brown-Goldstein Nobel
prize in medicine. The confusion in the media is cause and effect. The
fallacy is that cholesterol causes heart disease, but plaque build-ups are the
effect of heart disease. G. C. Willis, MD, made the crucial observation in the
early 1950s. A Canadian doctor, he noticed that atherosclerotic plaques in his
patients kept forming in the same places. Usually near the heart where the
blood vessels are stretched and bent.
Heart drug to join PBS (News in
Australia) ~ Article no longer available, due to copyright restrictions
I am now gritting my teeth reading
that this drug is 'approved here in Australia!
From February 1, cardiovascular disease drug
Vytorin will be added to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), at an annual
cost of more than $1600 per patient.
And
And excuse me BUT when was the last time - or
even the first time a doctor warned you of this????
All patients starting therapy with
ezetimibe/simvastatin or whose dose of ezetimibe/simvastatin is being increased
should be advised of the risk of myopathy and told to report promptly any
unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness because they could be signs of
serious side effects.
An interesting webpage that will lead the reader
to many different aspects of the cause and treatment of
artherosclerosis
In point of fact, the liver is responsible for over 80% of
your cholesterol level.
Diet accounts for less than 20%.
Chelation & Heart Disease ~ Dr Duane Graveline ~ Artherosclerosis - hardening of the arteries - is
caused by the arterial walls hardening and thickening from deposits of plaque,
which causes a narrowing of the arteries. Oxydized cholesterol (LDL cholesterol
that has combined with unstable oxygen molecules) coats the damaged arteries,
increasing the condition and bringing risk of heart attack and stroke. Heart
attacks alone, are responsible for over 550,000 deaths in the United States
every year!
There is a natural approach that offers a way to
deal with and help to prevent these and other conditions safely, effectively,
and at an incredibly reduced cost in both dollars and human suffering -
Chelation.
The answer: Animals produce their own vitamin C
in amounts between 1 gram and 20 grams each day, compared to the human body
weight. These amounts of ascorbate are obviously sufficient to optimize the
stability of their vascular walls without any necessity for
Statins.
The interest in HDL is a big shift in attention
for the field of heart disease prevention. Ever since the arrival of statins,
its main preoccupation has been reducing LDL, which carries in the cholesterol
that clogs the arteries.
